Designer Hartmut Engel assisted in the design process for the “Dematerialized lighting” in which the goal was to create light emanating from an invisible “cloud” in the room. It allows those who enjoy the more minimalistic look to have a lighting structure to match their aesthetic.
The idea of “Dematerialized lighting” creates simplistic yet powerful lighting. It introduces the idea of invisibility that transforms into magnificent lighting. This allows for a smooth transition between transparency and light. This new design resulted in an interesting transparency that helps the lighting fixture merge almost invisibly into the architecture.
The design process focused on using the internal structure with the design. The designer, Engel, wanted to keep the minimalistic aesthetic but also make sure it functioned properly. The overall idea focused heavily on the aesthetic, allowing the functionality to flood the space with soft, glare-free lighting.
